Weeds should be identified as to whether they are grasses, broad-leafed weeds or sedges and be identified by name. When you properly ID your weed (you can always call your UF-Extension agent to help you) then the proper pre-emergent and/or post-emergent herbicide(s) can be chosen to give efficient control.
OK, where I am going with all this? On February 20th (YES, on a holyday) BASF and UF-Extension Program are conducting an incredible workshop series on Weeds and their management.
